Package Pump Station Installation in Kingston upon Thames

The Project

Alton Facility Services completed a package pump station installation in Kingston upon Thames. The project included a new pump chamber, twin sewage-rated pumps, pipework, controls and connection into the existing drainage arrangement.

The Challenge

The site required a new packaged pump chamber to handle sewage flows and connect into the existing discharge pipework. The installation needed to integrate with the existing drainage while allowing reliable pump control and future access.

The old tank also needed to be infilled and surplus spoil removed from site.

The Solution

• Attended site with labour and plant for the pump chamber works.
• Excavated and installed a new 2 x 1 pump chamber.
• Installed two 230v sewage-rated pumps into the chamber.
• Connected the pumps using 2 inch pipework and valves.
• Connected the existing drains into the new chamber.
• Connected onto the existing discharge pipework.
• Installed the control panel and float switches required to control the pumps.
• Infilled the old tank and removed excess spoil.

The Result

The new pump chamber installation was completed and the system was left connected in accordance with the quoted works.

This project shows the value of a properly designed package pump station where gravity drainage alone is not suitable and sewage flows need controlled pumping to the discharge point.
