Cesspit Emptying in Rogate, Petersfield

The Project

Alton Facility Services attended a rural property in Rogate, Petersfield, to empty a cesspit serving a pool house. The tank was accessed using tanker equipment with a long pull from the access track.

The Challenge

The tank served a pool house and was located away from the main access point, behind gates and down a track. The team needed to complete the emptying safely while working with the restricted access and hose distance on site.

The access route was on a gravel track, which meant vehicle choice was important for future visits, especially when the tanker was full and leaving site.

The Solution

• Attended site with tanker equipment.
• Located the pool house tank and set up access safely.
• Used a long hose pull to reach the tank from the available vehicle position.
• Completed the tank emptying and checked site access requirements for future visits.
• Recommended using a 4x4 tanker option for future emptying because of the gravel track and gradient.

The Result

The cesspit emptying was completed and the customer was given a practical recommendation for future tanker access. Using a more suitable vehicle on the next attendance will help reduce strain on the vehicle and make the process more efficient on the gravel track.

This project shows the importance of planning tanker access on rural properties, especially where tanks are located away from the main drive or behind restricted access points.
