Investigate the cause
We review the affected area, drainage route, access, ground conditions and symptoms rather than assuming every flooding problem needs a new soakaway.
Site-led soakaway investigation, installation and repair for flooding, standing water and failed surface-water drainage systems across Hampshire and surrounding counties.
AFS assesses the drainage route, site constraints and likely ground conditions before recommending repair, replacement or a different surface-water solution.
AFS provides soakaway installation and repair for homes, commercial premises, estates and development sites across Hampshire, Surrey, West Sussex and surrounding areas.
We investigate failed or overloaded systems, blocked inlet pipework, waterlogged ground and recurring surface-water flooding before recommending a suitable route forward.
Send the postcode, photographs, drainage drawings if available and details of when the flooding occurs. We can then advise whether the next step is a site assessment, investigation or quotation.
For evidence of AFS drainage groundworks, view the photographed New Forest drainage-field project. It is a treated-wastewater drainage field rather than a rainwater soakaway, but it documents the excavation, drainage materials, distribution pipework, chamber work and reinstatement completed by the same drainage team.
We review the affected area, drainage route, access, ground conditions and symptoms rather than assuming every flooding problem needs a new soakaway.
Depending on the findings, the work may involve clearing or repairing pipework, replacing a failed system, infiltration assessment or an alternative drainage design.
Where agreed, AFS can complete the drainage works, connect the surface-water system and reinstate the excavated area to the quoted scope.
Provide photos, address, access notes and any drawings or background information.
We confirm the likely scope, whether a visit is needed and what information is missing.
We provide a quotation or arrange suitable attendance depending on the service and urgency.
A soakaway should be based on the catchment, ground conditions, available space and a suitable discharge strategy.
Standing water does not automatically mean that a larger soakaway will work. The problem may be an obstructed inlet, a collapsed chamber, saturated ground, unsuitable soil or runoff exceeding the original design.
Where a new system is proposed, site investigation and infiltration information help establish whether infiltration is suitable and what storage and drainage arrangement may be required.
This service manages rainwater or surface water; it is not a wastewater disposal system.
A rainwater soakaway receives clean surface water from roofs, drives and paved areas. A septic tank drainage field distributes settled wastewater through perforated pipes into suitable ground and is assessed under different requirements.
AFS can help identify which system is involved before recommending investigation, repair or replacement. For septic effluent, use our dedicated drainage-field service.
Project evidence should show what was actually installed, not rely on generic stock imagery.
The New Forest case study records work completed from 5 to 12 May 2026, including excavation, a 15 metre by 3 metre raised drainage field, drainage stone, filter sand, distribution pipework, an automatic pump chamber, topsoil and seeding.
That project manages treated wastewater and is not presented as a rainwater soakaway. It is included as genuine evidence of AFS excavation, drainage construction, chamber installation and reinstatement capability.
These original photographs are from the New Forest drainage-field installation completed by AFS in May 2026. The project is a treated-wastewater drainage field, not a rainwater soakaway.

This Google review refers to the New Forest drainage mound installation shown above.
“Drainage mound installation. Very efficient, good communication and site left nice and tidy. Could not ask for better service. Nice to have tradesmen that seem to take pride in their work.”Mark Collins Google review

Yes. AFS supports homeowners, commercial sites, estates, developers and property managers depending on the service required.
We mainly cover Hampshire, Surrey, West Sussex, Berkshire and nearby areas from our base near Alton and Liphook.
No. This soakaway service is for rainwater and surface-water drainage. Wastewater from a septic tank requires a correctly assessed drainage field or another compliant discharge solution. See our septic tank drainage fields page.
Sometimes. The right option depends on whether the problem is caused by blocked or damaged inlet pipes, silt, collapse, poor infiltration, an undersized system or unsuitable ground. An investigation helps determine whether repair, replacement or an alternative drainage solution is appropriate.
Send the site postcode, photographs of the affected area, details of when flooding occurs, approximate drainage routes and any available drawings, surveys or previous repair records. A site visit or testing may be required before installation can be specified.
Yes. The linked New Forest case study includes original photographs, project dates, the design approach, material quantities, construction stages and reinstatement. It is a treated-wastewater drainage field rather than a rainwater soakaway and is labelled accordingly.
Send an enquiry or call the AFS team. We’ll confirm the practical next step and whether a site visit is needed.
