Blocked drain clearance

The challenge

The customer experienced a serious blockage in their drainage system that prevented normal flow. This type of obstruction can cause backups and requires immediate attention to prevent further issues within the property's plumbing.

What we did

Our team attended the site to diagnose and resolve the blockage. The engineer worked to clear the obstruction using appropriate methods for the specific type of blockage encountered. The goal was to restore full drainage capacity as quickly as possible.

The result

The blockage was successfully cleared and flow was restored. The drainage system is now operating correctly for the customer. This service demonstrates our capability to handle urgent drainage faults efficiently.

Why early drainage investigation matters

The update “Blocked drain clearance” highlights a common drainage lesson: the visible blockage is not always the full problem. Grease, roots, damaged joints and poor falls can all cause repeat failures.

AFS can clear the immediate restriction and then check whether further investigation is justified. A CCTV survey can show cracks, displaced joints, root ingress or collapsed sections that cannot be confirmed from the surface.

The aim is to match the response to the fault. Some sites need jetting and routine maintenance. Others need a local repair, relining or replacement pipework.

If you have a similar issue, send the postcode, a short description and any useful photos to AFS. We can then confirm whether a site visit, survey, service appointment or written quotation is the right next step.
