Backup Generator Flood Protection System Serviced

⚡️ SYSTEMS DESIGNED TO WORK FOR YOU ️⚡

Earlier this year, we installed a bespoke storm prevention system for a domestic property that experiences frequent power cuts — leaving the home at serious risk of flooding whenever the mains electricity fails.

This week, the system received its first service… and it’s a great example of how the right setup can take a major worry away from a homeowner.

The system has been designed so that if the mains power drops out:

The generator automatically kicks in
The control panel and pump set remain operational
The property continues to have working flood protection 24/7
Built-in telemetry alerts the customer when power is lost — and again when it is restored

Once mains power returns, the system switches back over and the generator returns to standby, ready for the next time it is needed.

No rushing home during a power cut.
No wondering whether the pumps are still working.
No relying on luck when the weather turns.

Just a system quietly sitting in the background, ready to do exactly what it was designed to do. ✅

And that’s really the point…

Not every property has the same problem, and sometimes an off-the-shelf solution simply isn’t enough. We can assess the risk, understand how your existing system operates and design a solution around your property and your circumstances.

Checking the whole pump system

The update “Backup Generator Flood Protection System Serviced” shows why pump faults need a system-level check. A pump can run continuously because of pressure loss, a control fault, a failed non-return valve or a problem with the vessel.

Replacing the pump without checking the controls and pipework can leave the original cause unresolved. AFS tests the relevant components and explains which repair is justified.

Where a replacement is needed, the duty point, flow, head and operating conditions should be confirmed before a new pump is selected.

If you have a similar issue, send the postcode, a short description and any useful photos to AFS. We can then confirm whether a site visit, survey, service appointment or written quotation is the right next step.
