Project Type: Supply and install complete with all groundworks of a sewage treatment plant.
Location: Chertsey – In the Runnymede borough of Surrey, England.
We identified that the clients existing sewage treatment plant was not processing and treating waste. On investigation, we found that their existing site was undersized and unable to cope with the daily flows running through it.
We were tasked with supplying and installing a new larger treatment plant that could cope with the daily water discharge/flows of the site. Once the plant had been sized we then had the task of installation. This involved the use of heavy plant machinery including the use of a crane to lift the new Klargester treatment plant into position.
We were faced with many challenges on this project including the fact that the new plant was being installed quite close to a lake which meant the groundwater table was quite high.
The installation process required precise planning and execution to mitigate the risks associated with the high groundwater table. Our team implemented innovative solutions, such as water management techniques and temporary groundwater lowering systems, to ensure a safe and effective installation. This meticulous approach enabled us to overcome the environmental challenges presented by the proximity to the lake, ensuring the project's success.
Following the installation, comprehensive testing and commissioning of the sewage treatment plant were conducted. This phase was crucial to verify that the system operated efficiently and met all regulatory standards for wastewater treatment. Our commitment to quality and adherence to environmental guidelines was evident as the new system demonstrated its capability to handle the site's demands effectively, improving the overall sewage management and treatment process.
To ensure the longevity and reliability of the new sewage treatment plant, Alton Pump Services also provided the client with a detailed maintenance plan. Regular servicing and maintenance are key to preventing future issues and ensuring the system continues to operate at its peak. Our ongoing support and expert advice give our clients peace of mind, knowing that their sewage treatment needs are in capable hands. The successful completion of this project not only addressed the immediate concerns but also contributed to the environmental sustainability of the Chertsey area.
